The opening night of Photographers’ Gallery exhibit “The Good Life,” hosted by Kathy, Nicky and Paris Hilton last Friday, June 26, was a resounding success, with attendance from several high-profile personalities and a litany of worldwide media coverage. The opening featured several stunning works from society photographer Slim Aarons and celebrity photographer Murray Garrett. The night continued the family’s longstanding relationship with Mr. Garrett, 82, who photographed family patriarch Conrad Hilton with his sons, Barron and Nicky, in the 1950s; the photographer appeared at the opening as well, posing for shots with the Hilton family.
Paris and Nicky came out very much in support of their mother’s work with charity P.S. ARTS, a foundation that supports arts education for children. Proceeds from the auction of two photographs from each photographer held on Friday will benefit the charity. The foundation’s chairperson, Young and the Restless head writer Maria Arena Bell, and board director Joshua B. Tanzer, attended the opening.
Also in attendance were interior designer Faye Resnick, two-time Emmy award winner Heather Tom, actress Katerina Graham, Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, television producer David Katzenberg, and E! Entertainment reporter Ted Casablancas.
The event made for a night to remember: a mix of glamour past and present, an affirmation of a decades-long relationship between a photographer and his subjects, and the support of a most worthwhile charity. “The Good Life” is currently on display at Photographers’ Gallery, 145A N. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, CA, until the end of July.
